Participants should be able to describe the rationale for the use of DBS and the patients for whom the treatment is most indicated and have a general understanding and appreciate the neuroanatomy that informs programming as well as the principles of initial DBS programming. They should become familiar with newer systems and features that may help with troubleshooting common patient scenarios.
