Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to define terminology and concepts related to gender identity and gender affirming care; describe the intersection between transgender identity and particular neurologic conditions, such as stroke and epilepsy; and explain, using a framework of neuroendocrine mechanisms, why transgender individuals using gender-affirming hormones may be at higher risk of particular neurologic conditions, such as cerebrovascular disease.
