Participants should be familiar with the clinical trials and translational research that have led to current standard therapy for glioblastoma multiforme, anaplastic astrocytoma, and anaplastic oligodendroglioma; know current investigational avenues and how to access these clinical trials; have an understanding of surgical approaches to these tumors; appreciate the areas of controversy in the management of low-grade neoplasms; have an evidence base for the management of seizures, venous thrombosis, and infection during initial treatment; and learn strategies to help enhance quality of life for patients with long-term complications and unusual sequelae of brain tumor therapy.
