Participants should be aware of the results of recently completed antithrombotic and statin trials related to stroke prevention and how these results will likely impact upon clinical practice; be aware of the SAINT trials of the neuroprotective agent NXY-059 and whether or not it is likely to be approved; gain information about the status of other acute stroke therapies in development as well as how the time window for acute therapy can be expanded; and become familiar with the current status of interventional approaches to stroke prevention and acute therapy.
