Learning Objectives Participants should be familiar with the assessment and acute management of patients with spinal cord injury, including functional classification of patients using the American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale; potential mechanisms for neural repair and motor rehabilitation; management of autonomic dysfunction; the patterns of SCI resulting from modern warfare; addressing sexual function in patients with SCI; and the psychological adjustments needed for societal reintegration.
