Explore neurology compensation data in survey dashboard

August 10, 2026

Are you looking for a clearer picture of the US neurology practice landscape? With more than 4,300 survey responses, the Neurology Compensation and Productivity Dashboard helps you explore the largest benchmarking data set dedicated to neurology and its subspecialties.

AAN members who completed the 2025 survey can access it for free, and all other AAN members can buy access for $500 (nonmember price: $2,000). Shop or access the dashboard. A free executive summary is available for those who want to preview the data.

New this year, purchasers can add on the 2026 Compensation Pulse Survey report. Designed as a streamlined companion to the primary survey, the Pulse Survey provides more current data on key compensation and productivity measures that support informed decision-making. AAN members can add the report, in Excel spreadsheet format, to their dashboard purchase for an additional $100.

The Neurology Compensation and Productivity Dashboard is useful for neurologists of any practice type, business administrators, and other neurology professionals like advanced practice providers. Use it to:

  • Determine fair market value by benchmarking compensation and productivity
  • Filter data by subspecialty, geographic region, gender, and more
  • Gauge demand for neurology services using total patient encounters and appointment wait times
  • Find new opportunities by reviewing ancillary services
  • Discover other trends for on-call rates and duties, practice performance and size, and much more

“As a small business owner, the NCP survey serves as a great marker for me to see how I am doing compared to others in similar positions, and each year, it can be a great tool to see how well I have progressed through the previous year,” said Sonya Knight, DO, FAAN, the owner and solo neurologist of Psychiatry and Balance Therapy Center in Blue Bell, PA. “The survey has also brought up interesting questions that I don't necessarily think of in my day-to-day business practices. Finally, it gives me, a small-practice practitioner, a look at the differences of larger organizations, which allows me to recognize how companies grow and allows me to assess my own capabilities.”

The dashboard has 10 pages of information, including detailed tables and customizable pages for neurologists, APPs, practices, on-call rates, inpatient services, teleneurology, and more. These pages include a wide range of filters to help you make use of the data—subspecialty, community size, gender, setting, region, clinical FTE, academic rank, and more. You can filter out outliers in compensation and RVUs, explore inpatient and outpatient benchmarking, and dig into telehealth data.

Once you’ve customized your dashboard to explore the data that matters most to you, save your findings for later and even download them for use offline. Whether you’re a neurologist, APP, academic leader, or practice administrator,  the dashboard offers benchmarking insights tailored to help you make informed decisions.
