Dr. Green had 20 patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy between January 1 and December 31 of the measurement year. This is the denominator. One patient has a contraindication for disease-modifying therapy and one patient is already on a corticosteroid. These patients are removed from the denominator.

Of the remaining 18 patients, 13 were prescribed disease-modifying therapy. This is the numerator.

Quality of care = 13/(20-2). Dr. Green has a score of 72% for this measure.
