This award recognizes an APP who is an AAN member, for their volunteer service to patients, organizations, and/or the community related to neurology and/or brain health. All areas that involve service, for which the applicant has invested their personal time, will be considered.  

Timeline

• Applications open: August 5, 2025
• Applications close: October 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CT
• Notifications sent: By end of January 2026

Benefits

Each award recipient will receive a $1,000 prize, an honorary plaque, and recognition at the Annual Meeting and in AAN member publications.

Eligibility

Applicants must be an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and an AAN member in good standing. Applicants must attest that they meet the AAN definition of an Advanced Practice Provider. Advanced Practice Provider membership is for licensed practitioners who spend the majority of their time with patients and are engaged in clinical practice related to neurology.

Application process

Whether self-applying or nominating someone else, applications should include:

• The completed application form, which includes a statement of interest (500-word limit) that demonstrates how the APP applicant or nominee shows commitment to volunteer service to patients, organizations, and/or the community related to neurology and/or brain health.
• A current curriculum vitae
