Futures in Neurologic Research Scholarship to the Annual Meeting

About
The purpose of the Futures in Neurologic Research (FiNR) scholarship is to offer the AAN Annual Meeting experience to medical students, residents, or fellows who are interested in pursuing research. Thirty-five travel scholarships will be awarded.

- Customized experience: Required and suggested programming and events to attend to increase engagement with content and colleagues to create a unique Annual Meeting experience
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a medical student, resident, or fellow.
- Applicant must be an AAN member at the time that the scholarship is awarded. It is recommended that applicants check to be sure that they are AAN members before applying for the scholarship.
- Applicant demonstrates an interest in neurological research.
- Applicant must be at a United States or Canadian institution.
- You may not receive or accept more than one AAN scholarship to the Annual Meeting. Please apply for the scholarship that best fits your interests.
- You are not eligible to apply if you are a previous recipient of the FiNR scholarship.
- The scholarship will be given to no more than one applicant per institution.
Application requirements
Residents must submit their application online. Applications submitted via mail, email, or fax will not be considered. Application must include the following: 
- Letter of interest
- Format should be single-spaced, one-page with 11-point font or greater, and at least 0.5-inch margins
- Letter should highlight interest and/or experience with research
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Format should be 11-point font or greater, and at least 0.5-inch margins
- Letter of recommendation from research mentor, program director, or current faculty member
- Format should be single-spaced, one-page, on program letterhead with 11-point font or greater, and at least 0.5-inch margins
- Letter should include language similar to: 
- “I certify that (medical student, resident, or fellow name) is in good standing in my program.” 
- “I recommend (medical student, resident, or fellow name) for the AAN FiNR Scholarship to the Annual Meeting because…” 
Awardee expectations
Recipients must attend required events, science, networking, and mentoring activities during the Annual Meeting, as well as complete evaluation/feedback materials. If selected, the itinerary and detailed requirements will be communicated.
