Resident Scholarship to the Annual Meeting

The Resident Scholarship is offered as an effort to recognize the importance of US or Canadian resident attendance at the AAN Annual Meeting.

Timeline

  • Applications open: August 5, 2025
  • Applications close: October 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CT
  • Notifications sent: By end of January 2026

Eligibility

  • Resident must be an AAN US or Canadian member at the time that the scholarship is awarded. It is recommended that residents check to be sure that they are members of the AAN upon applying for the scholarship.
  • Resident demonstrates a commitment to neurological teaching, education, and/or community service
  • Resident must express an interest in active involvement in the AAN
  • Have not previously received the Resident Scholarship to the Annual Meeting
  • Resident needs to be in neurology training (not a PGY-1 in Internal Medicine, or PGY-2 in Pediatrics on their way to Neurology)
  • Programs can nominate one (1) resident per adult and one (1) resident per child program
  • Residents may not receive or accept more than one AAN scholarship to the Annual Meeting. Please apply for the scholarship that best fits your interests.
  • Selected recipients will serve as mentors to recipients of the AAN Medical Student Annual Meeting Scholarships

Benefits

Recipients will receive:

  • Meeting Registration
  • Airfare
  • Three nights' hotel, Saturday, April 18–Monday, April 20
  • Customized experience: Required and suggested programming and events to attend to increase engagement with content and colleagues to create a unique Annual Meeting experience. Selected recipients are required to be present Saturday, April 18, 2025 (arriving by 12:00 p.m. is preferred) to Tuesday, April 21, 2025 (departing after 12:00 p.m. is suggested)

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
