AAN membership policies

Dues payment for future years

For all member types that renew on the calendar year schedule (Advanced Practice Provider, Business Administrator, Neurologist, Physician Affiliate, and Researcher), the AAN will accept future years’ dues payments at the most recently established rate for up to five years. Future years’ dues payments are non-refundable and will not be considered under the general membership refund policy.

For member types that renew on the academic year schedule (Resident and Fellow), the AAN will accept future years’ dues payments at the most recently established rate for up to five years, or until the residency or fellowship training end date (whichever comes first). Future years’ dues payments are non-refundable and will not be considered under the general membership refund policy.

Membership dues refund policy

The purchase of AAN membership for both new and existing members is generally non-refundable, and all future years’ dues payments are non-refundable. Exceptions may be made for the following, and are at the discretion of AAN.

  • Members who have already renewed their membership but apply and are approved for Senior membership prior to the current year’s Annual Meeting are eligible for a partial refund of the membership dues paid, minus the current year’s cost for the Neurology journal subscription.
  • Members who are dissatisfied with membership and contact the AAN within 30 days of applying for or renewing membership may be eligible for a refund. The AAN will review member benefits utilized and determine if a refund will be granted.

Auto renewal policy

The AAN now provides the option to select AAN member types to opt in to automatic membership renewal.* By opting in to the auto renewal service, you agree to allow the 好色先生 to automatically renew your membership on November 1 (or the next business day if November 1 falls on a weekend) for the following calendar year. This will continue until you opt out of the service by updating your AAN member profile or by contacting AAN Member Services for assistance. Auto renew is available for the membership fee only and does not include optional donation items, airfreight, or Continuum® purchases.

The renewal fee will be charged to the payment method on file at the time of renewal. You will be notified via the preferred email address in your AAN member profile of the dues pricing at least 30 days prior to your card being charged for the next membership year. This notification will include the renewal date, the renewal fee, and instructions for how to cancel the auto renewal if you choose not to renew.

You may cancel your auto renewal at any time before the renewal date by accessing your AAN member profile or by contacting Member Services at (800) 879-1960 or +1 (612) 928-6000. Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next membership year.

Once an auto-renewal charge has been processed, it is non-refundable. Please refer to the Membership Dues Policy above for additional details.

*Auto renew option is available only for Neurologist, Physician Affiliate, Researcher, and Business Administrator members.
