Call for Annual Meeting abstracts: Coming together to share, collaborate

September 2, 2025

Advancements in research are the key to our mutual goal of brain health for all, and the AAN Annual Meeting is the place for us all to come together from across the world to expand our knowledge, share our contributions to science, and build upon our shared global vision. Abstract submission is now open for the 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place next April in Chicago. Submissions are being accepted across 25 topics related to neurology. Everyone—no matter the subspecialty, area of interest, or location—is invited to submit their most impactful findings up until the submission deadline of 11:59 p.m. CT on October 14, 2025.

“The AAN is a close-knit community of more than 40,000 neurology professionals from 141 countries and 6 continents, and the Annual Meeting offers unparalleled opportunities for all of us to come together to connect, share, and learn from one another,” said AAN Science Committee Chair Paul M. George, MD, PhD, MSE, FAAN. “Your voice and participation are essential for our shared success, which is why I hope you will take part in this powerful opportunity to share your hard work and awe-inspiring discoveries with all of us next April 18–22 in Chicago.”

In addition to abstracts covering the whole range of neurological discoveries, the AAN is also seeking scientific abstracts for the Neuroscience in the Clinic sessions, which focus on translating scientific advancements into practical clinical applications and will explore the following topics:

  • Circadian Neuroscience: Time Matters in Neurology
  • Innovations in Aphasia and Apraxia of Speech
  • Neurological Care of Individuals with Down Syndrome Across the Lifespan
  • The Connection Between GLP and GIP Medications and Brain Health: A New Frontier
  • Waves of Change in Neurology: Rethinking Cortical Spreading Depolarization (CSD)

The nonrefundable submission fee, based on the first author's training and member status, is $125 for AAN members, $225 for nonmembers, and free for residents and medical students. For more information, email Katie Anderson

Added George, “Together we will continue to work to move the needle steps closer towards brain health for all.”
