Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) grants

DEI Innovator Grants

The DEI Innovator Grants are grant funds to support projects, events, and activities that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic neurology departments or the communities they serve. These grants are designed for those with new, untested, and innovative approaches to fostering DEI. This grant is designed for applicants with little or no experience implementing DEI-related projects. Students, residents, fellows, and early career faculty are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience is not necessary, and we encourage those with little to no experience to apply. Awardees will have the opportunity to share their ideas and bring in collaborations with diversity officers and other institutions.

Selected applicants will be able to pitch their ideas in a virtual meeting to the Diversity Officers Subcommittee. Subcommittee members will ask questions, provide feedback, offer ideas, and may offer to assist with, collaborate with, or fund proposals.

DEI Project Grants

The DEI Project Grants are grant funds to support projects, events, and activities that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic neurology departments or the communities they serve. These grants are designed for those who have experience and are already working in the DEI space within their academic neurology departments. At the end of the grant period, recipients will be asked to present their projects and share their experiences at a virtual meeting of the Diversity Officers Subcommittee. They will also be asked to provide a detailed summary of how funds were used and the outcomes of their work.
