Childcare information
Childcare registration is separate from conference registration. View the AAN's child attendance policy for conferences.
Hours and rate
The cost for the children's program is $25 per hour, per child. When registering for childcare, you will be required to indicate the dates and times your child(ren) will be in the childcare room. Check with your employer or institution about potential funding opportunities.
Children must be registered for a minimum of two consecutive hours per child for each day registered. Childcare will be available Saturday, April 18, through Wednesday, April 22, at McCormick Place West. Standard hours are 6:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. daily.
What to bring
KiddieCorp supplies water and snacks throughout the day, but meals need to be provided by parents. Food products with nuts are strictly banned. Parents with infants must provide a change of clothes, diaper changing supplies, and baby food or formula.
Activities
Childcare activities will be tailored to each child's age. KiddieCorp provides activities including board games, crafts, storytime, thematic and music arts, and more.
Safety
At least one on-site manager and one team member will be present during Annual Meeting childcare hours. All managers are trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency preparedness.
Hand sanitizers are available on-site and common surfaces and equipment are disinfected after every use. Other high-touch surfaces like door handles, toys, and highchairs are also cleaned frequently.
Staff-to-child ratios are 1 adult per: 1 newborn, 2 infants, 3 toddlers, 5 pre-schoolers, 7 school-agers, or 10 teens.
